Nicole and Avi

We are

About Us

Nicole Rudisill and Avi Baron

Nicole and Avi met through their common friend, Raleigh Kibort at the Minnesota State Fair in 2018. Raleigh told Avi "her name is Nicole, and she's Jewish!" and she told Nicole "don't be offended if he doesn't like you, because he doesn't like most people."

The day after meeting, Avi called Nicole to ask her out. Schedules didn't align until two weeks later, when they were finally able to have their first real date at Hola Arepa. They extended their first date to a post-dinner walk and a few drinks. Avi got to meet Junie B. Jones (the cat, not the children's book character) on their second date where they watched Nicole's favorite movie, You've Got Mail. [editor's note: they watched Avi's favorite movie, Moon, 4.5 years later]

Officiant
Raleigh Kibort Professional friend of Avi since childhood and part of The Coven. Empathy radiates from her just as her happiness when in the sun's rays.
Bridesmaids
Katie Lazarski Maid of Honor    Best friend of 20+ years, Nicole’s sister in every way but blood, the only person who knows her better than she knows herself.
Ashley Larsen Best friend and college roommate, Nicole’s fiercest protector and defender, except when she almost burned their apartment down making mac’n’cheese.
Caitlin Bergstrom Best friend and fraternity sister. One of Nicole’s greatest cheerleaders, encouraging a healthy dose of laughter in every new adventure.
Groomsfolk
Jonathan Alter Best Man    Best friend since he paused a hike and had us listen to nature and asked if we were full. Thoughtful, instrospective, and unabashedly silly.
Michael Kane Best friend since our moms conspired to put us in the same cabin in Ha'Atid. The most generous person. He has literally taken the shirt off his back for others.
Mara Baron Sister    Best friends since she let me play Barbie with her. A strong advocate for others, even if that means pushing against the current.
Flower Dude
Joe Rudisill Brother    Brother since 1996, a true friend, biking enthusiast, and the biggest goofball Nicole knows.
Family
Alan and Jolene Rudisill Parents    Lovers of dogs, RVs, and really good tacos. They taught Nicole how to stand up for herself, speak her mind, and embrace going on adventures.
John and Lareda Ferguson Granddaddy and Nanna    A loving duo who taught Nicole to be politically engaged, constantly learning, and made sure she had access to creative outlets of all kinds.
Mary Rudisill Grammy    She patiently listened to Nicole singing lots as a kid, always gave an extra scoop of ice cream, and never once snuck broccoli into our food.
Gary and Sandy Baron Parents    Encouraged Avi to try new things (even if he didn't want to), modeled patience, and taught him how to advocate for himself.
Judy Baron ז״ל Grandma    The strong matriarch, a curious, creative, and caring soul who encouraged those qualities in others.
